here's what we did around here for Father's Day---
Matt has officially earned SUPERHERO status

(that's supposed to be jackson/adelaide above...though J looks verrrry tall)

(the tshirt below is supposed to be the Homeshout logo)

(on the back i attached the 'jackson' interview about dad and our card, the kids ages/to go w/their prints)

Happy Father's Day :)

I have a sweet honey who makes for a VERY sweet daddy.
Adelaide was climbing on him like he was a jungle gym here today...

My two baby sweeties, who have made Matt the Dad he is...

And, to top off a nice day, Jackson pulled his 2nd tooth out! (while he was in Time Out with nothing else to do... I guess that's one way you can get your time cut short!!)

Happy Father's Day, Matt!

And a very Happy Father's Day to my Daddy, too...

love,
Shay

To Dye For.

Our first time to actually dye Easter Eggs at home...Jackson and I had a blast!
Thanks to Aunt Lauryn for providing the egg-dying kit

showing off his treasures--i love that Adelaide is toddling around in the background!!  she wasn't feeling too hot this day...she spiked a fever--probably teething

matt got this sweet one of me and my little Jack C. here!

(this was actually on my birthday...the week before Easter, i believe? we dyed eggs and hunted for them that day...which was good, because the week got busier and we would've run out of time, otherwise)

Funny Girl.

She is thinking and communicating something here, isn't she?!  Little bit of mischief and attitude, with a dash of humor

...and for some reason the up close cartoonish pictures always make me smile....here's one ...

Our little Funny Girl:

19 months old
chatterbox (watermelon and mango are the new words the last 2 days...too many to write down!)
LOVES to dance.   any time there is music playing, she can't even HELP herself.
loves to eat.   anything. anywhere.
happy and giggly.
gets mad and cries if she doesn't get her way on something  ahhh yes, there is a red tint in that head of hair...
Eyebrows...she loves to wiggle them up and down saying "Eyebrows!" Really loves it when you join in!
Loves her big brother, Jackson.
Hugs, kisses, and holds/pats her babies on the back around the house. (yes, girls are VERY different than boys...)

wanted to jot down these things so I don't forget....time passes so quickly these days!
up from a nap now...

Shay

Boys

we checked out a book a while back from the library called "Dirt Boy".
i didn't realize it was based on my child.
this is seriously how he comes in the house.
i really wonder how these boys do this....???

Formal Easter Shots

hmm.    well, perhaps next time.
or in several years
here's what happens when I try with both the children all dressed up...
the "nice" pictures of the kids before church on Easter..... so serene <smirk>

what is happening back there?

mom, i'm still posing nicely, and he's pretending to do something to me!! (insert favorite sound effect here)

in Jackson's head: "and vogue...and vogue...and vogue..." (every click...new pose. VOGUE people!!!  and serenity now mommy!

yes, this is an adorable expression, really!

adelaide, still sitting patiently.  jackson, still ... being a 5 year old boy

aaaand, being sweet... as he clutches adelaide's head and keeps it suuuuper still enough to give her a big kiss.

finally...a non-goofy option, albeit serious, where they at least semi-match up in their poses
(this is actually before all of jackson's "other" poses...apparently this is his thoughtful and premeditating expression.)

i'm glad matt was there...he told me to keep snapping as Jackson was acting like himself
these are HILARIOUS to me and will (whenever i ever get around to it) be perfect in a photo album!!
took more of adelaide alone another day, where she wasn't sitting underneath and behind jackson's booty.
i'm loving this stage of both of our 'babies'...  lots of laughing and smiles. (plenty of time-outs, etc, too, but that's just part of it!)

ENJOY people. and VOGUE.

Pumpkin Party!

Every year, our friends the Poehls throw a pumpkin party...we've never been able to make it until this year and were so glad Jackson (and all of us!) got to take part in the messy fun!

It was a great time for me to catch up with a few friends, while adelaide was passed out in her stroller

Jackson's art work below!

here is how jackson made his fantabulous pumpkin

squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze!

Country fair..

we had a great time at our church's country fair!

got super lucky, too--just as we pulled up to park, Jackson's friend, Grayson, was walking by with his family!  So, these two had a blast doing all the activities together (even getting pumpkin's painted on their faces! jackson would not have let someone paint on his face last year with a ten-foot pole.  but, he saw his friend walk up and was waiting in line wanting to do it as well   Hopefully none of his friends will be visiting tattoo parlors anytime soon, or this may actually become a problem.

i can't believe both siblings smiled nicely at the camera--- at the same TIME!

TWICE!

Grayson & Jackson--they were so happy to see each other. you can tell they are excited!

My two little squishies...

and......a post-bath attempt at pictures together.

someone tends to get crazy, tries to wrestle, pull hair, eat people's shirts...every time she's within arms reach of her brother.  he better watch out!  (check her face out! nose-wrinkle and tongue out!)

Pumpkins.

more photos---along with the pumpkin jackson decorated!
he enjoyed the glitter glue so much at our friend's party last month, i thought we should bust some out here, too!

i had a little fun painting it, as well    we need to get crafty and messy more often!

adelaide is getting a little more brave each day---now after the pulls up to stand somewhere and plops (purposefully or not) back down, she doesn't cry for 5 minutes any more (HA).  Tushy is getting more used to it and perhaps she is getting a little less scared?

this is a nice memory marker photo for me---we can see she's not walking yet, but will be propped up on anything!  in case i forget later when all of this happened...

goobers...

hey, we can see everybody's teeth in this one!

i love being in the grass! (i kind of want to keep my left foot in the air, though...just in case i change my mind.)

and....

...mommy's favorite
